In honor of Washington State’s statewide day of action this past Friday and in solidarity with all of the University of Virginia athletes speaking out for the Black Lives Matter movement, Seattle Hoo and special guest Isaiah Wilkins discussed police treatment of Black citizens, Isaiah’s experiences, the protest movement, some of the solutions that have been proposed, including defunding or abolishing police departments, and the political activism of UVA athletes – including Isaiah himself. This podcast presents the views of Seattle Hoo himself and does not reflect a HOOS Place corporate statement or position. All of HOOS Place’s contributors have complete editorial freedom and Seattle chose to express his views on this timely issue.

A fan of UVA basketball since Ralph Sampson was a sophomore and I was in high school, I was blessed to receive two degrees from UVA and attend many amazing games. Online since 1993, HOOS Place is my second UVA sports website, having founded HOOpS Online in 1995.
