Wake Forest Deamon Deacons

Wake Forest had a surprisingly adequate season last year, riding the breakout of now-departed big man John Collins to go .500 in the ACC and earn an 11 seed in last year's Big Dance. Are the returning Deacons up to the task of repeating?

Outlook:

Wake Forest returns one of the best backcourts in the nation that no one is talking about. The starting duo of Bryant Crawford and Keyshawn Woods combined for 29 points and 9 assists a game last year, and they're supported by two more capable backups in Mitchell Wilbekin and Brandon Childress. At the wing and post positions, however, Wake is going to be looking for answers with the early departures of Collins and Mitoglau. Doral Moore will be stepping into the spotlight in the post with little experience so far, graduate transfer Thompson will be adjusting to the tougher competition, and beyond that they'll be relying on freshmen or less talented vets. They should fight their way back to another .500 season in the conference, again probably landing on the right side of the Bubble and getting the Deacons a 9 or 10 seed.
