2019 Baseball Schedule Reactions

The 2019 baseball schedule dropped yesterday afternoon while the team was in the middle of its final fall scrimmage against the Ontario Blue Jays. Having had a little time to digest it, I'm ready to dive in. You can view the complete schedule in the link in the opening sentence. I'm going to break down the schedule by segments: opening event, Power 5-Ish non conference games, non Power 5 non conference games, ACC home series, and ACC road series.

With the 2018 MLB Draft signing period expiring on July 6, it's a good time to look at where the UVA Baseball roster sits number wise heading into the next season.

NCAA rules stipulate that Division 1 baseball teams can have a maximum of 35 players on their roster. Those rosters do not have to be finalized until the day before the regular season opener. For that reason, it should come as no surprise if the team has more than 35 players on the fall baseball rost...

Way Too Early Lineup Projection

With their convincing win over Arkansas, Oregon State closed out the 2018 college baseball season. With that chapter closing, we can begin to look towards the 2019 season even if we're a bit premature. Unlike MLB, college baseball doesn't have the traditional hot stove league to carry the offeason. But there's plenty of time between now and the season opener in February 2019 for rampant speculation and guessing.
