ACC play begins this weekend in baseball. The Hoos will host NC State in an enormous matchup to begin conference play. UVA will enter the series with a 10-3 record and six-game winning streak. The Wolfpack are 12-0 and ranked as high as 7th in college baseball polls.

Since we're at a pivotal moment in the season, let's take a look at what's going well and where there's work to do.

UVA begins its March midweek slate with a visit from another in state opponent. This week, Richmond makes the quick trip up 64 West for a Tuesday afternoon game. Virginia is coming off a weekend sweep over Dartmouth. Richmond will represent a step up in competition but arrives having lost five in a row.

Giving the game a little extra meaning will be the presence of former Wahoo catcher Drew Blakely in a Spiders uniform. Blakely is a redshirt junior at Richmond. ...

The Hoos get an Ivy League visitor this weekend as Dartmouth ventures south from New Hampshire. Virginia (6-3) will host the Dartmouth Big Green (2-2) in a three game series. This will be the Hoos' last weekend series prior to ACC play beginning next weekend with the NC State Wolfpack.

Virginia's epic homestand continues on Tuesday afternoon with a visitor from Williamsburg. 

After taking three of four from Bucknell, a series in which the offense exploded for 10.5 runs per game, the Hoos (5-3) look to push their winning streak to two games. The Tribe from William & Mary (3-4) will certainly have other ideas.

Home Opener 2020 - VMI

The Hoos have returned from Florida and are gearing up for the 2020 season's home opener. Both Virginia (1-2) and Wednesday's opponent, VMI (1-2), spent the opening weekend in Florida.
